EWALT 2023

Prof. Hauke Lang |Dr. Jens Mittler

Dear colleagues,

It is our great pleasure to invite you to the
25th anniversary Meeting of the Eastern and Western Association of Liver Tumors (EWALT)
which will take place in Mainz (Germany) – November 8th – 10th, 2023.

Since the first Eastern and Western meeting which was chaired by Jacques Belghiti and Masatoshi Makuuchi in Paris 25 years ago, EWALT and the community behind it have found many answers but raised even more questions, and the field of liver tumors is facing clinicians and researchers worldwide with complex challenges. Therefore, the 2023 Meeting in Mainz will bring together renowned specialists in the field of surgical and medical oncology, pathology, endoscopy, diagnostic and interventional radiology as well as radiotherapy. Experts from all around the world will meet in Mainz for an intensive three-day discussion on diverse aspects of liver tumors.

The 2023 program attempts to cover the most recent highlights and relevant issues on the diagnosis, management, treatment, and research of primary and secondary malignancies of the liver. This will include new surgical techniques as laparoscopic and robotic hepatobiliary surgery, new aspects in the multimodal treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma, intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma, and liver metastases, biological agents, immunotherapy, radiologic-interventional approaches, but also aspects as pre-habilitation and many more.

In addition to invited talks given by experts in the field, open paper discussions, poster and video presentations will be highly encouraged.

Looking forward to welcoming you in Mainz!

Sincerely Yours,

Hauke Lang | Jens Mittler
